Teeth Scanning FAQ
What are the Advantages over Traditional Impressions?
- Imaging quality superior to results achieved with alginate impressions
- Produces a more accurate dental record
- Adults and children alike prefer the more comfortable digital impression process
- Results can be viewed immediately
Who makes the iOC Dental Scanner?
Cadent iTero powers the system - a Pioneer in Digital Dentistry with 13 years in the orthodontic field, 5 years in restorative dentistry, and 2+ Million Cases (and counting).
How is the iTero iOC different from other Dental Scanners?
Scanners that use the triangulation/sampling principle of imaging, typically apply one angled cone of light to capture a single image at 15 microns. The iTero teeth scanning system captures 100,000 points of laser light in perfect focus at 300 focal depths of the tooth structure. These focal depth images are spaced approximately 50 microns apart.
How long does teeth scanning take?
The iTero iOC captures orthodontic impressions in 6-8 minutes. This offers instant 3D patient consultations without the goop and gagging of traditional impressions.
Are infection control proceedures in place?
Yes, single-use disposable imaging shields ensure maximum infection control.
Can iTero iOC dental scans be used with Invisalign®
